520			_aDie in Englisch verfasste Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Habad Bewegung und deren Agieren in Israel. Der Verfasser definiert zunächst die Geschichte und die Grundlagen des ultraorthodoxen Judentums, des Hassidimus und der Habad Bewegung. Dabei werden primär die religiösen Elemente betont, die teilweise einen paradoxen Charakter haben. Besonders die Verbindung mit Gott, dvekut, und die religiös notwendige Selbstaufhebung, bitul, werden erklärt. Danach richtet sich das Augenmerk auf drei politisch relevante Bereiche, die nicht nur für die Habadniks von höchster religiöser Bedeutung sind. Zunächst wird die Frage 'Wer ist ein Jude' analysiert. Die Analyse wird mit zah Nach dieser Analyse beschäftigt sich die Arbeit mit dem Sechstagekrieg, der von den Habadniks als messianisches Vorzeichen wahrgenommen wurde. Hier wird die Historie widergespiegelt; danach folgt die wissenschaftlich umstrittene Erklärung des israelischen Sieges. Dabei stellt sich die Frage, welche Rolle G-tt und der Messianismus in diesem kurzen Krieg spielten. Zuletzt wird die Siedlungspolitik analysiert, die zum Vergleich die religiös-zionistische Siedlungsbewegung Gusch Emunim heranzieht. Nach einer anschaulichen Einführung über die Siedlungsbewegung und deren aktive Politik, wird Habads Siedlungspolitik erklärt. Dies bringt zum Vorschein, dass die Habadniks zwar nicht aktiv beteiligt sind, jedoch mit Wohlgefallen die 'Reinigung' des Landes beobachten - in der Hoffnung auf eine frühere Ankunft des Messias.Josef Herbasch hat sein Studium der Politikwissenschaften an der Ludwig Maximilian Universität München im Juli 2013 erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Seine Forschungsbereiche sind die aktuelle Tagespolitik Israels, die Kabbala sowie das ultraorthodoxe Judentum. Insbesondere interessieren ihn daran die rechten und extremistischen Bewegungen und den Hassidismus in all seinen Ausprägungen.
